Aurora (Rory) Rose Purser

Meet Aurora (Rory) Rose Purser. Born 7/15/2020. Rory is diagnosed with CMV , a virus that she has been fighting since 20 weeks old.

When her situation was discovered at 20-24 weeks we were told the chances of meeting her outside the womb weren’t very good and that she likely wouldn’t make it, and that if she did survive her situation and ability to thrive would not be good. One doctor even talked to us about considering termination because the odds were against us, but we weren’t giving up on Rory!

It’s been a hard road, and the journey has just begun…. but after lots of prayer and waiting , hoping and trusting, and nearly 30 ultrasounds over 3 months of constantly checking on her-being amazed at how she’s stayed stable that long…she’s finally here….beating the odds by staying strong and still fighting!

There still is a lot to overcome ahead, the virus caused some irreversible damage to Rorys brain, amongst many other challenges, but Rory has already come so far, she is strong! We believe our prayers are being heard daily and we continue to pray and hope for a healthy and bright future for Aurora Rose, whatever that may look like. She is a gift, and already a miracle.

Thanks for all that have been and will continue us to journey and pray with us!

About my name….

About my name….

Why Aurora?

This image mom found online but loves how it speaks to the meaning of my name…. the “Dawn “ to shine and renew like the morning dew. May my story shine light as the sun begins to rise and be like morning dew bringing water to dry roots, and for many renewing faith and hope and trust in God above and the miracles he can work! Mom says I’m already a miracle for making it this far, and she believes God will only take me further. He loves me more than mom and dad, which is hard to believe!

Mom always liked the name Aurora because of the northern lights … Aurora Borealis. When mom and dad where walking the streets of Italy in fall 2019 they kept seeing street signs and hotel signs named “Aurora” and took it as a sign that this should be my name! Rose as a family name and Rory for short because mom likes nick names

…and that’s the story and meaning behind my name…Aurora Rose!
